Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

When getting things done can be tough
But five more meeces are done
And ready for fun
Plus five knitted today that's enough

I've found a number of really cool projects that I'd like to have the time/energy/yarn for but... I must finish some of the projects I already have around and about before starting anything further that involves getting more supplies.
I am wondering about setting myself a goal of focusing on a project a month and making as much progress as possible or whether I should set a project focus for the week. Whichever I decide on I won't completely tie myself down as energy and pain levels might mean I need to switch (I can crochet fairly safely when I'm tired but I can't sew and risk falling asleep on the needle - I figure I'm less likely to do myself any damage with a large crochet hook but a sewing needle could be a different matter. Therefore the worse that would happen is I'd have to undo part of what I've done when crocheting).
I'm going to make a note here of some of the started projects that I would like to finish before the end of the year by way of trying to make myself accountable:
* another blanket - this one is stripey - I've probably done about 4 inches so far, so there's a lot to go - also don't know what I'll do with it when it's done as I don't have a recipient in mind (the people who I would like to make one for wouldn't like the yarn/colour/style but I need to use up the yarn in question)
* the current sweater project - 1 of front/back done - the other and 2 sleeves plus assembling
* a pair of multicolour socks - part of 1 sock done
* a pair of plain socks - 1 1/2 socks done
* a Winnie the Pooh cross-stitch - probably nearly 1/3 done
* dreamcatcher cross-stitch - probably about 2/3 done but it's quite fiddly and lots of counting so I need to be concentrating
* a pair of fingerless mittens - part of 1 mitten done.
Wondering if I should take a leaf from

There are always more tempting projects out there, it can be so hard to resist the temptation.
That's a nicely varied selection of projects. I think I'd go with the weekly focus. It might take longer to finish things, but there'd be less likelihood of becoming bored with any particular project.
A row on the blanket each day sounds like a great idea. Even when it starts getting heavy, one row should be manageable without straining your arms too much.
