Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Yogurt can be evil. *solemn nod*
Congrats on your progress in face of the bad shopping luck.

Oh no, I'm so sorry about the yogurt accident :( Hooray for the arm warmers, though!

Oh no, that's a huge mess.

I decided to leave the coral as it is - I can always add the sequin ribbon later, assuming it will resurface before February - and attacked the submarine next. It is yellow, of course; anything else would be heresy, right? I actually managed to finish it, even though Mum got inspired by my craftiness and decided to patch up a decorative pillow-case that has been in the process of falling apart for quite some time.

Of course, she needed help with pinning on the patches, etc. Of course, we disagreed about how it ought to be done. Of course I had to undo all her hard work half an hour later because it didn't work the way she thought it would. Tomorrow I'll try my way, and if it still doesn't work, I'll take it to the seamstress in the new year.

I hope the pillowcase turns out when you try it your way ♥

After some consideration Mum and I decided not to bother with it but take it to the seamstress, after all, to have the entire back panel replaced.

Sounds like a good plan.

Nah, we gave up on the pillow; I'll take it to the seamstress in the new year. But I'm very satisfied with the way the submarine turned out. Not as professional as the original, of course, but I still like it.

Submarine must be yellow! Good luck on the pillowcase, sounds very frustrating!

It is! We've decided to employ professional help. *g*

weaving in ends, weaving in ends, dear gods almighty i'm weaving in ends. I've done the ends on edgings 1-4. That leaves edgings 5-6 (of which there are two large motifs each, so four total) and the small motifs, half of which are done already, I believe. It's slow going but I am pretty determined to get this part done today, so I can do seaming tomorrow. why do I always leave the ends to the, well, end? only gods know.

Also, I was voluntold to make another baby blanket for a friend of my mom. Sigh. I've got about 4-5 months to do it, and if it's like the last one I made, mom will pay me for it. I've started the fun part (browsing patterns) but can't say I'm really looking forward to actually DOING it.

Hahaha the ends. I go back and forth on whether I am good about those or not.

I've started doing center out and self-striping yarns almost every time for baby blankets. They turn out cute and I didn't have to think or change colors or anything.

Worked on the first half of the cardi off and on. I am going to run out the gray on this skein, then start the other side with the 2nd gray skein. Want to make sure the gray sections end up the same size.

I'm also perusing the Herrschners catalog that came today. 'tis the season for free shipping.
