Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: We all probably have multiple WiPs, but which of yours has been hanging around longest, waiting to be finished?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've made two more baskets today. Now I'm up to 5 and have nearly run out of the 1 cm wide paper strips. I'll give the slightly wider - and delightfully patterned - ones a try next. Hopefully the design will work with them, too. *fingers crossed*

So many baskets! Way to go! Hope all goes well with the next strips of paper.

after 9 total months of on-again off-again suffering I have finally finished this tapestry!!

I still need to pick up another dowel for the bottom since it's so wavy. also, ignore those 2 test tassels in the corner, lol

it came out to about 3ft x 3.5ft altogether, with 22,500 single crochets!

Gorgeous!

I did no knitting for two weeks, due to being in Costa Rica. :-). Now I'm back and working on my scrappy striped vest again. I also ordered yarn for a lacy summer top I want to make next, so I'm set for the next few weeks of knitting.

Hope the vacation was lovely! Welcome back and yay for knitting!

Waiting impatiently for more yarn to arrive for Alphi. I ordered it from Hobbii, first time ordering from there, and everyone must've decided to try ordering from them now that JoAnn is closed because I got TWO apologetic emails from them, once because of a delay in the shipping due to warehouse being overwhelmed, and another saying one of the colors I ordered (not for Alphi, for a different product) was out of stock and here's a coupon if you want to order it later once it's back in stock. I got the shipping notice on Saturday. It is now Tuesday, and tracking STILL says "Label Created, not yet in system", grrr.

I'm kind of listless today. I did some a bit on the cardi, listening to an audiobook, but then was interrupted by mom coming home with groceries and I always get them out of the car and put them away for her. Once that task was done, I went back to my room and was like... eh... don't feel like finishing the chapter/crocheting more.

I then started a motif for the capybara, but the yarn is super slippery and the skein keeps falling apart leading to the need to untangle and I've just about had enough of that, so quit on the second round of the motif.

I'd like to finish Alphi's second boot, or finally place his hair, but I'm feeling pressured to do PRODUCTIVE STUFF like LOOK FOR A JOB or STUDY CODING, which would be fine except I'm also really resisting doing those things because they scare me. So what I am doing instead is sitting in a ball of nervous energy and refreshing Bluesky and Dreamwidth over and over, bleh.

Sorry for the difficult day. Also yeah it sounds like Hobii is getting overwhelmed. I ordered from there a while back but haven’t tried the yarn yet. Hope your order arrives soon!

I've been looking at Hobbii but I'm a bit nervous about ordering anything from overseas given the current political climate in the US... :/

Yeah, I don't blame you. I'm not sure I would have ordered if I had remembered they were international. I was rather surprised when the tracking (which is finally working) said it originated in Denmark.

Spent most of the day spaced out on Deltarune. I do have the first i-cord done though, and like 1/4th of the second

It's gonna stall for a few days because work and overtime and suchforth, but it'll at least get brought to the work table (and probably ignored)

Progress is progress! Way to go!

Did some handsewing on Saturday.
WIDRN Wednesday

Finished a quilt (bound) on Monday.
WIDRN Wednesday

Started a new quilt last night. Then realised I'd cut the blocks too small - the pattern sizing is the FINISHED block, and I made no allowances for seams. *facepalm* So now I'm adding framing to the blocks...
WIDRN Wednesday

I've decided I have to do more "little progresses" because in spite of it meaning I'm leaving a litter of projects behind me, half-done, it means I have more projects to do to nag me off social media and other timewasters. (Civ II, I'm looking at you.)

The finished quilt is absolutely beautiful! And I really like the cloth you picked for the second quilt. Way to go!

How beautiful! I love the black and blue butterfly print!

Went to crafting group and worked on the six point star blanket. By some totally random coincidence another lady there is making the same pattern but in a rectangle instead of a star. I have used up an entire giant baby skein of yarn, and I am wondering if I can just…end on this iteration of the pattern? Cut out a few rows? I need to measure the blanket and see but maybe I can…? It’ll still be big enough for a baby…
